The synthetic ice tectonik-ice™ (registered brand) is today’s best alternative for natural ice. The modern technologies allow the realization of synthetic surfaces on which gliding is the same as that on natural ice.
Properly maintained the synthetic ice keeps unchanged its characteristics during the whole life.
Gliding is approximately 90% from that of natural ice freshly polished. While natural ice after a few hours of skating reaches to 80% of the initial characteristics (and has to be polished again), the synthetic ice keep gliding constant.
